    William Peace University, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, seeks applicants for a part-time Public Safety Officer, working 16 hours per week.  Reporting to the Director and the Assistant Director of Public Safety, this position provides public safety services to the University community.  Duties include but are not limited to enforcement of University’s rules and policies; responsibility for preventing and suppressing crime, protecting life and property; patrolling assigned areas on foot to ensure personal, building, and equipment is secure; maintenance of patrol logs, recording of occurrences, and completing necessary paperwork; informing and warning violator of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles; and working with local law enforcement agencies.  Duties also may require use of computers to input and retrieve data.  The officer is expected to comply with the University’s and the Department’s rules, regulations, and policies; perform his/her duties independently, utilize proper judgment, and maintain a high degree of professionalism. There are possible opportunities to pick up extra shifts when other scheduled permanent officers are not able to work due to being sick or on vacation. This position is non-exempt, and the selected candidate must be able to satisfactorily clear a complete background check.  This position will work from 3:00PM to 11:00PM on Saturdays and Sundays, including working holidays.

    • Compiles, studies and reports occupational, educational, and economic information to aid students in implementing career and educational goals and making informed career decisions
    • Oversees materials in career resource library; make recommendations for purchase of books, software, and other relevant publications.
    • Provides career development information and presentations to alumni, college boards, parents and faculty when requested.
    • Assist with the management and the updating of a web based Internship and Job Search database system.
    • Assist with updating the Career Services web site content for prospective students, current students, alumni, employers and parents.
    • Represents the college at community and/or business meetings to promote existing and new programs and job/internship opportunities for students.
    • Works with faculty to promote career development models, activities and workshops integrated in courses where and when appropriate. Establishes rapport with assigned faculty to provide appropriate, challenging and meaningful internship sites that enhance the subject area knowledge in an experiential education setting.
    • Participates in professional development associations and organizations to remain current in field of career counseling and labor market information.

  • Assistant Athletic Trainer
    William Peace University, a vibrant and diverse independent institution in Raleigh, NC, seeks applicants for a full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in managing and providing athletic training services to maintain the optimal health and well-being of the student athletes at William Peace University.  The Assistant Athletic Trainer will attend all practices and home games as scheduled, along with occasional travel to away games as arranged with the Head Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible for evaluating injuries sustained by athletes and providing emergency medical attention; determination of appropriate medical care and course of action, including applying tape, special orthotic padding, braces, and developing and implementing rehabilitative programs as necessary.  The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible for identifying and correcting common risk factors and conditions predisposing the athletes to increased risk of injury, including monitoring and controlling environmental risks when possible.  The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer with organizing and implementing annual pre-participation physical examinations, along with collecting and maintaining all required documentation. This includes electronic maintenance of health care records for all athletes.  As part of the Athletic Training Staff, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible for managing insurance claims along with the Head Athletic Trainer.  This will include completing claim forms and submitting documentation of injuries for insurance purposes. The Assistant Athletic Trainer may be responsible for supervising Athletic Training Students completing clinical hours and monitoring work-study students as necessary. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will provide excellent communication between the Athletic Training Staff and Coaching Staff, and will serve as a liaison between WPU and the Team Physician, along with the physician’s office.  The Assistant Athletic Trainer will also assist the Head Athletic Trainer with the selection and maintenance of athletic training equipment and medical supplies.  WPU is under the new leadership of Dr. Brian C.     The minimum qualifications for this position:

    • Bachelors degree in Athletic Training required.
    • NATABOC Certification.

    The School of Professional Studies at William Peace University, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach in our campus-based and online accelerated 7 week program, in the following academic areas:

    The minimum qualifications for this position are:

    • A Master or Doctorate degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline)
    • Related work experiences in the field, professional licensure and certifications, honors and awards, continuous documented excellence in teaching, or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes may be used to supplement academic credentials if warranted.
    • Two years of experience teaching college level courses.
    • Established record of teaching excellence and demonstrated leadership experience.
    • A minimum of two years of work experience required.

    The preferred but not required qualifications for this position are:

    • One year of experience teaching at an accelerated degree-completion program preferred.
