State Grant Assistance
Students deemed eligible for grant assistance from the State of North Carolina are informed through the official financial aid award letter. Information on state grants can be found in the Admissions and Financial Information section of the Academic Catalog.
Student Loan Information Published by Department of Education
Information regarding loan rights and responsibilities of students are provided through online entrance and exit counseling. Please visit the Office of Financial Aid website for more information on Entrance Counseling and Exit Counseling.
National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)
The information of students and parents is submitted to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), and will be accessible by guaranty agencies, lenders, and institutions determined to be authorized users of the data system. Information is also available on the Office of Financial Aid website.
Entrance Counseling for Student Loan Borrowers
A student is made aware of Entrance Counseling needing to be completed when they receive their award letter. The following paragraph from the award letter gives them this information:
Stafford Loan and/or Entrance Counseling: Due to the recent legislative changes in the federal education loan program, effective July 1, 2010 all Stafford loans are funded through the William D. Ford direct lending program with the US Department of Education. In order for your Stafford loan to be disbursed to your student account, you must complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) and entrance counseling with the US Department of Education online at https://studentloans.gov.
Exit Counseling for Student Loan Borrowers
An Exit Counseling letter is mailed to any student who received Stafford loans while enrolled at William Peace University and has left the college either for graduation, withdrawal, transfer, or no longer enrolled a minimum of 6 hours, etc. For more information, visit the Office of Financial Aid website.
Private Education Loan Disclosures (Including Self-Certification Form)

Code of Conduct for Education
Officials are prohibited from:
- revenue-sharing arrangements with any lender
- receiving gifts from a lender, a guarantor, or a loan servicer
- contracting arrangements providing financial benefit from any lender or affiliate of a lender
- directing borrowers to particular lenders, or refusing or delaying loan certifications
- offers of funds for private loans
- call center or financial aid office staffing assistance; and
- advisory board compensation
Preferred Lender Lists and Arrangements
Due to the William D. Ford Direct Lending program William Peace University does not have a preferred lender list. William Peace University does not participate in preferred lender arrangements for private loans.
