Education
William Peace University is the place for young teachers in North Carolina to learn and grow.
Under the leadership of former North Carolina superintendent Ann Denlinger, Ed.D., the education program at WPU was designed by experienced educators who are closely connected to public education in North Carolina. We provide an atmosphere where students dissect the learning process and examine the future of K-12 education. Our professors challenge students to explore the latest teaching methods as they engage in relevant coursework and enriching student teaching opportunities. Many of our professors are certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
A close partnership with the Wake County Public School System -- including professor Carolann Wade, M.Ed., Wake County Public Schools liaison -- offer students access to extensive resources, valuable professional contacts and student teaching opportunities unavailable at other colleges and universities. Simply put, our students are prepared, connected and ready to make a difference when they graduate.
The education major is one of the fastest growing at WPU and currently offers elementary education, special education licenses and a blended elementary/special education program. A middle school education licensure is in development and will soon be available.
