Parking and Special Needs
Due to the large number of guests attending Commencement, you may utilize any of the parking lots on campus, except for any reserved spaces. There is additional parking in lots behind campus, which can be accessed from Halifax Street.
Across the University, on Peace Street, are parking lots for the Architecture Association and Holy Trinity Church that are available for Commencement parking.
Additionally, parking deck number 433 on Vaughn Street will be available for free parking. Vaughn Street is located just west of Salisbury Street. There will be signage and Officers on Peace Street directing you to the parking deck entrance. Shuttle buses will be available to transport you from these off-site parking decks to campus: Friday 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturday: 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Please note, Salisbury Street will be closed in the morning due to the Capital City Classic 10K Road Race. Please plan accordingly as you may encounter traffic delays. Click here for a map of closings from the Road Race from Capital City.
Peace Street [from Halifax to Blount] will be closed from 9:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m., during the Commencement Ceremony.
If you have any guests who need special accommodations during Commencement activities, please notify Sheri Keasler at 919.508.2004 as soon as possible so we can assist in making any necessary arrangements.
