• Overview

The Religion program at WPU represents an opportunity to learn about religion across cultures from antiquity through present day, exploring its profound impact on world events.

Religion plays a central role in virtually every aspect of human society. It is impossible to understand today’s pluralistic and interconnected world without knowledge of the religious beliefs and traditions that lie at the foundation of nearly all the world’s cultures. Offered as a stand-alone minor or as a minor or concentration in the Liberal Studies major, the Religion curriculum delves into the histories, texts and practices of many of the world’s religious communities. If your career plans include working in multi-cultural settings in almost any field, an academic foundation in religious studies would likely prove very valuable.
