WPU’s Writing curriculum combines courses from the English and Communication programs to build the skills for creating well-crafted documents for immediate, practical use.
Even as today’s workplace becomes increasingly technological and mechanized, employers identify mastery of language as the skill most lacking in recent college graduates. If you are seeking an edge to distinguish yourself as a writer, look no further. The Writing major combines a focus on close reading and argument with a contemporary application of such skills to digital media to prepare you for a career in emerging fields that demand linguistic precision in technological contexts. Coursework includes core classes in professional writing, social media, communications research and advanced grammar, and a wide range of electives enable you to tailor your program according to your interests and career goals.
The courses listed below are for the Academic Catalog and are subject to change. Please reference the Academic Catalog for further information and course descriptions. If you are a current student, please reference the catalog in which you come under.
