Offices close early for holiday
All offices on campus will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Last Unum sessions today, tomorrow
Today and tomorrow will be your final opportunity to see the Unum representative concerning supplemental insurance products available through payroll deduction, including personal accident, critical illness with cancer coverage available, and short-term disability. He will be in Flowe 104 to hold individual 20-minute information and enrollment meetings for all eligible employees. Full-time faculty and staff, PPT faculty assigned 5 or more units per year, and staff who work 20 or more hours per week are eligible. Common Time planned for next week
Peace is trying out a “Common Time” event to create an opportunity for our community to come together for a shared experience. The first common time is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 1 in Finch Library. Margot Starbuck, author of The Girl in the Orange Dress, will read an excerpt from her book, give a brief address and answer questions. The presentation and discussion will be followed with light refreshments.
Sign up for Pacer Alerts for weather notifications, emergencies
Peace offers a text-messaging system to notify members of the campus community of emergencies or other timely news, such as inclement weather announcements. For weather announcements, this system is used in addition to the Inclement Weather Line messages. You must sign up for the Pacer Alert service to receive the text messages, which are sent to text message-capable cell phones. It’s easy to sign up for the alerts. Go either directly to this page -- http://www.peace.edu/content/page/id/560 -- or to Peace’s home page and click on the button that reads “Safety Alerts at Peace.” Have your cell phone with you and follow the instructions to register your phone with the system.
Faculty, staff invited to Holiday Wine Tasting event
All faculty and staff are invited to join the Alumnae Association in the upcoming Holiday Wine Tasting and Alumnae Boutique on Friday, December 4, in the Lucy Cooper Finch Library beginning at 7 pm. The event will include five tastings, two full pours, heavy hors d’oeuvres and holiday shopping with 13 alumnae* who own their own business or handcraft their own wares. Featured items include handcrafted soaps, boutique clothing, accessories, and jewelry, hand-knit baby items, paper crafts, gift items, and more! Faculty/staff and guest cost is $10 per person. Peace Athletics has new website
Peace College Athletics has launched a new website at www.gopeacepacers.org. The new site has a number of new features, including a scrolling news feature with action photos of Pacer student-athletes. The new design will also provide prospective and current student-athletes, fans, visiting teams, and the Peace College community easy navigation to sports pages, the college application process, Hall of Fame recipients, Pacer Club membership, and much more. New quick links and buttons have been created to steer fans to the basketball webcasts to catch the Pacers in action and the college bookstore for new Pacer apparel.
