Campus Announcements for Dec. 7, 2009

Christmas concerts scheduled for tonight, Wednesday
The annual Betty Vaiden Wright Williams Christmas concerts will take place tonight and Wednesday. The concerts will feature the Peace College Chamber Singers and Choir, and the Peace College Dance Company. Among the choral selections will be several works by 18th century composer Michael Haydn, accompanied by a chamber orchestra. Also on the program are several lighter selections, including “It’s beginning to look like Christmas” and the Austrian carol “Still, Still, Still.” The program will conclude with “Why Can’t We Have Christmas the Whole Year Around,” a version of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” made famous by the folk group “Peter, Paul, and Mary.” The concerts begin each evening at 7 p.m. in Kenan Recital Hall, and are free and open to the public. A reception follows each performance.

Calendar planning meeting Thursday
Please join your colleagues for the semi-annual calendar planning meeting and delicious refreshments on Thursday (Reading Day) at 9 a.m., Williams Board Room.  We will review spring semester event dates & information, and also plan for 2010-2011. Most importantly, this meeting provides an opportunity for us to gather around the table to discuss ways to make Peace events meaningful and resourceful.
