Campus Announcements for March 1, 2010
Seeking stories for President Bingham feature
Have you got a story about how President Bingham made a special contribution in your life at Peace? For a tribute in the Peace magazine, we're seeking short stories from you that tell of President Bingham's dedication and love for Peace College and its people.
We're looking for stories of how President Bingham helped you, encouraged or inspired you, did something meaningful for you, or pointed you in a right direction. Rather than general descriptions of President Bingham and her work at Peace, we want specific stories of how she interacted with you.
Please keep your stories to less than 200 words in length and send them by the end of the day Wednesday to Mike Hobbs, mhobbs@peace.edu. If you have any questions, please contact Mike.
Faculty, staff members invited to take part in Stunt Night
Calling all faculty and staff with a sense of humor! Ever heard of Stunt Night? You know, the Peace tradition where students create skits including parodies of faculty and staff? Well who says the students should have all the fun? This is the year the faculty and staff strike back! Stunt Night is set for Wednesday, March 31, at 7:30 p.m. and Student Development is organizing a short faculty/staff skit to occur during the intermission of the student skits. If you have ideas of ways we can parody our dear students or want to get involved email Cameron Hill at clhill@peace.edu.

Christian Sineath voice recital Friday
A voice recital featuring Peace alumna Christian Sineath '04, accompanied by Dr. Milton Laufer on piano, will be held Friday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place in Kenan Recital Hall and is free and open to the public. Sineath received her BA in Music Performance degree from Peace College in 2004. She studied voice with Professor Jim Smith, under whose guidance she was recognized for her outstanding accomplishments. During her junior and senior years as a Peace student, she won first place in the statewide competition of the National Association of Teachers of Singing in the Music Theater category, and she went on to place second in the five-state Regional competition during her senior year. Since graduating, her credits include Hattie in Kiss Me Kate with the Janiec Opera Company at The Brevard Music Festival, and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro in scenes with the Opera Theater and Music Festival of Lucca, Italy. She is now a master's candidate at Manhattan School of Music.

REMINDER: Sign up for Pacer Alerts for weather notifications, emergencies
Peace offers a text-messaging system to notify members of the campus community of emergencies or other timely news, such as inclement weather announcements. For weather announcements, this system is used in addition to the Inclement Weather Line messages. You must sign up for the Pacer Alert service to receive the text messages, which are sent to text message-capable cell phones. It’s easy to sign up for the alerts. Go either directly to this page -- http://www.peace.edu/content/page/id/560 -- or to Peace’s home page and click on the button that reads “Safety Alerts at Peace.” Have your cell phone with you and follow the instructions to register your phone with the system.
