The last concert in this year’s Manning Chamber Music Concert series is tonight!. The concert will feature musicians from the N.C. Symphony, with our own Dr. Milton Laufer. The program includes works by Mozart and Beethoven. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. in Kenan Recital Hall. It’s free, and open to the public.
Employee recognition event on Thursday
It's that time of year again! Time for end-of-year paper reading, exam grading, Commencement planning and ... the annual employee recognition event! This year's frivolity will play out in Leggett Theatre again. Come help congratulate and celebrate our long-serving employees. The fun begins at 10 a.m. A luncheon hosted by the Parents' Council will follow in Main Parlor. Plan to attend!
Faculty, staff invited to Alumnae Weekend
All Faculty and Staff are invited to join in the fun at this years’ Alumnae Weekend scheduled for May 14 – 16. This is a great way to reconnect with some of your former students and to catch up with our alumnae. There is no cost for you to attend, however, standard guest fees will apply. Info session on Italy trip today
Lyle Sheppard will host an information session regarding our summer study abroad program in Italy with Kathy Corley. Lyle will be in Belk foyer from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. today. The Italy trip is planned for May 2011. The International Studies Office is still taking applications for Hannam University, South Korea summer study abroad trip planned for this summer and for the Mexico trip also planned for this summer. Please share with students that scholarships are available for these trips.
Calendar planning meeting on Thursday
Please join your colleagues for the semi-annual calendar planning meeting and refreshments on Thursday, April 29 (Reading Day) at 9:00 a.m., Williams Board Room. We will review next year’s event dates and information, and also plan for the 2011 spring semester. Most importantly, this meeting provides an opportunity for us to gather around the table to discuss ways to make Peace events meaningful and resourceful.
Year-end purchasing reminders
As we near year end, please keep in mind that all purchases to be charged to the 2009-2010 budget must be received at the College no later than June 30. In addition the invoice must be approved and forwarded to Sue Lambert in Accounts Payable by mid-July. If you will not be on campus and have placed an order late in the fiscal year, please designate someone to assist with the receipt of the goods and the forwarding of the invoice.
Peace community invited to farmers’ market opening April 28
The Downtown Raleigh Alliance is inviting members of the Peace community to the opening of downtown Raleigh’s newest farmers market on Wednesday. The market is being relocated from Moore Square to the City Plaza at the 500 block of Fayetteville Street. The opening ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Pitmaster Ed Mitchell will do a demonstration at 12:30.
