Campus Announcements for May 3, 2010
Peace College will hold its 138th Commencement Satuday, with 119 candidates for bachelor’s degrees. Former North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Willis Whichard will provide the Commencement address. Randal McLean of Lumberton, who will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in biology, is the student speaker. Commencement begins at 10 a.m. The baccalaureate service will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Former Secretary of Cultural Resources Betty McCain will give the baccalaureate address.
Volunteers needed for Commencement prep
Randy Bass is seeking a few faculty/staff volunteers to help with Commencement preparations early Saturday morning. The primary task for which help is needed is wiping off the chairs. Volunteers are asked to be here by 7 a.m. to help complete that task ahead of the arrival of guests. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Randy at rbass@peace.edu or X2337.
Today is deadline for Facilities and House and Grounds survey
Employees are asked to please take a few minutes today to complete the on-line survey about how Peace College facilities and grounds are maintained. The collection of this data is important to our SACS reaccreditation process. All who complete the survey and put their name on the form will be entered in a drawing for a $30 gift certificate to the Bookstore. The deadline for completing the survey is today. The survey is available here: https://peacecollege.wufoo.com/forms/survey-assessment-facilities-and-house-grounds/
Faculty, staff invited to Alumnae Weekend
All Faculty and Staff are invited to join in the fun at this years’ Alumnae Weekend scheduled for May 14 – 16. This is a great way to reconnect with some of your former students and to catch up with our alumnae. There is no cost for you to attend, however, standard guest fees will apply. If you are planning to attend, please RSVP with Carol Grossi (cgrossi@peace.edu) at 508-2025.
Reminder: Year-end purchasing procedures
As we near year end, please keep in mind that all purchases to be charged to the 2009-2010 budget must be received at the College no later than June 30. In addition the invoice must be approved and forwarded to Sue Lambert in Accounts Payable by mid-July. If you will not be on campus and have placed an order late in the fiscal year, please designate someone to assist with the receipt of the goods and the forwarding of the invoice.
