What the Lab does: 

Discovers and documents biological diversity: Specifically, to document  bio-diversity of fishes of North Carolina and the surrounding region

Rola's responsibilities:

DNA extractions- DNA spectrophotometry - Gel electrophoresis -Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)- DNA sequencing 

State Employee Association of North Carolina

What the Seanc does:

They work to gain respect in the legislature for hardworking state employees and valuable retirees who dedicated their careers to state service.  

What Sara did:

Edited and wrote articles for the organization’s Reporter and Short Report - Maintained the website - Created excel sheets for organization’s members and their personal information - Kept up with and updated the Publicity Folder - Updated the Calendar of Events and SEANC in the News -

“One of the high points of my internship was being able to edit a real newsletter and having my opinions count on how it looked and what went in it” 

 What Sara learned:

More knowledge on what it takes to run a non-profit organization- How to adapt from the classroom to a job -More respect for hard working individuals -  A new mentor -Faith in knowing that I can go out into the real world and be successful.
