Peace Strengthens: They knew I had it in me.

Adventures

Welcome to Peace College’s Adventures Program!

Adventures is a program that has as one of its primary purposes to help new students adjust to college life. But Adventures doesn't stop there. We work to encourage self-reflection, community discovery, global awareness and career exploration. Get ready for adventure!

Your Peace College adventure will begin through a common summer reading selected specifically for you and your first-year classmates. During the fall semester you will continue your Peace adventure in your first-year seminar, Adventures for Women in Learning. In the seminar you will focus on self-discovery and reflection by covering topics such as wellness, values, and career exploration.

As you begin your adventure at Peace you will be matched with a peer educator who will help you to navigate college life. Peer educators are advanced students who will serve as your orientation leaders, co-teach your first-year seminar, and help you with all you need to know to become a successful student.

Fantasy Lozada credits the Adventures program for helping give her a good start in college life.

"The thing that surprised me most about college life is the blessing and curse of having independence," she says. "On one hand, being independent at college really makes you feel like you're growing up and making your own decisions. On the other, it seems that growing up is so hard because you have to be responsible for making those decisions. You have to learn discipline and at the same time you have to learn when to relax."

She says the program gave her opportunities to make new friends.

"I have really enjoyed being a part of this community which encourages women to be successful."
