Profile in Brief and Teaching Interests: Dr. Lee teaches Human Resources courses in both the day program for traditional students, as well as the evening continuing education program for adults, which she also coordinates. Specializing in selection and performance management, Dr. Lee uses field projects to teach students not just knowledge of Human Resources practices, but also skills. Dr. Lee currently teaches the Capstone course in the Human Resources Degree Program which requires each student to conduct an HR Audit in an organization to assess the many functional areas in HR against legal requirements and best practice. She also teaches the Performance Management course which requires teams of students to carry out a value-added performance management project in an organization that benefits both students and the organization. Past examples include designing a performance appraisal system for the YWCA of Wake County and Lulu.com, as well as conducting a needs assessment for the Generations Company and Forbes Transfer, a trucking and transfer company. Other courses taught by Dr. Lee include the short courses, SHRM Essentials of Human Resources Management, a certificate program, Employment Law Basics, Demystifying HR Technology, and Hiring for Emotional Intelligence, which are preapproved for recertification credits by the Human Resources Certification Institute. Research and Creative Interests: Dr. Lee is a certified trainer of the Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQi) published by MHS which is used at Peace for incoming students, as well as with external organizations. Having designed the "Hiring for Emotional Intelligence" course at Peace, Dr. Lee presents and trains on usimg EI in selection and training processes. She also designs selection processes for public sector and nonprofit clients through her consulting business, Developmental Associates, LLC. Another passion is helping increase the number of women in public service in North Carolina. Through a partnership between Peace College and the NC Center for Women in Public Service, Dr. Lee and her colleague, Dr. David McLennan, helped design a program called "Women in Office" to train women to run for elected and appointed offices. Begun in 2004, two-thirds of graduates have successfully secured elected or appointed offices. Personal and Professional Interests: After serving as a Vice President of Human Resources for a North Carolina nonprofit organization and teaching college as an adjunct professor for several years, Dr. Lee traded corporate life for the halls of academe and consulting when she joined the Peace College faculty and Developmental Associates, LLC in 1998. Dr. Lee is also a Board Member for The Chordoma Foundation, enjoys spending time with her family and five pets, and loves the beach and mountains. | | |

Profile in Brief: Kathy Corley brings more than twenty years of corporate experience as an executive into the classroom, supplementing textbook theories and concepts with practical techniques, tips, practice, and stories. Her extensive business connections introduce students to site visits, mentors, internships, guest speakers, and significant networking opportunities. Ms. Corley teaches and delivers on the importance of understanding the strategic business partnership of Human Resources. Prior to joining the Peace faculty in 2004, Ms. Corley was the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at The Body Shop and The Cato Corporation. She also has been a member of The Society for Human Resources Management at the national level for over twenty years and a member of the Raleigh-Wake Human Resources Management Association for nearly ten years. She is a long-standing member of the World at Work organization. She serves Raleigh-Wake HRMA in various volunteer committees and capacities, including the teaching of the Raleigh-Wake SHRM Prep Classes for the PHR/SPHR Examination. In 2008, Ms. Corley was awarded the Peace College President’s Leadership Award for Campus Excellence. In 2009, she received the highest teaching award on campus, The McCormick Teaching Award. Teaching Interests: Compensation and Benefits, Employee Rights and Employment Law, HR Management. Research or Creative Interests: Ms. Corley spearheaded the coordination and ultimate award of the Peace College curriculum as nationally certified by the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). She also researches, participates, and leads international study programs for students. In 2007, Ms. Corley joined the Peace College student trip to The Galapagos Islands, in 2008 she coordinated and led a Peace College study trip to Italy, and in the summer of 2010 once again will join students as they travel to Japan.

Profile in Brief: Jennifer Lindberg McGinnis began teaching at Peace as an adjunct instructor in 2007 and has been teaching full-time in both the Human Resources and Leadership Studies programs since 2008. As an undergraduate student, Jennifer did an internship at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, NC and conducted research on job choice factors in graduating college students and leadership role assumption in adolescent women. She presented her research at the Southeastern Psychological Association (SEPA) Conference in 2002 and 2003, earning her the SEPA Undergraduate Research Award in 2003. During her graduate studies at North Carolina State University, Ms. McGinnis completed a five-year assistantship at Kaplan DeVries, Inc., a small, highly specialized firm dedicated to enhancing the effectiveness of the leaders of a wide range of corporations. In addition, she served as a research assistant on a National Science Foundation grant project exploring the leadership effectiveness of university/industry cooperative research center directors. The graduate research of Ms. McGinnis focused on managerial flexibility, the leadership of highly-engaged teams, negativity bias in open-ended survey comments, and abusive supervisory behavior, which is the topic of her dissertation. Further, her research has been published in Industry and Higher Education, International Journal of Selection and Assessment, and Organizational Research Methods. Along with five of her colleagues during a two-year period, Ms. McGinnis was the Editor of the TIP-TOPics for Students column, which is published quarterly in The Industrial-Organizational Psychologist (TIP), a Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology publication. Profile in Brief: Kathleen Sack is a Principal in Korn/Ferry International’s Leadership and Talent Consulting group, based in the Firm’s Atlanta office. Ms. Sack brings over 20 years of experience working with organizations to increase capability by developing strategic talent to support business goals. Her key areas of consulting include talent management, learning solutions and performance strategies. Ms. Sack has experience in a variety of industries including retail, petroleum, aerospace, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing, including working for four Fortune 500 companies. In her career, she has successfully designed and implemented enterprise-wide talent management systems, large scale leadership development programs and performance management processes. Ms. Sack works with clients to design and implement succession planning systems, leadership development solutions for teams and individuals and performance management processes. As an adjunct faculty member, Ms. Sack teaches in the human resources curriculum at Peace College in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has also been a guest lecturer at Rutgers University and has spoken at several national conferences about her work in the areas of talent management and leadership development. Profile in Brief: Christine Vion-Gillespie, SPHR, is a results-driven HR professional with expertise providing “out of the box” employee relations solutions within education, technology, telecommunications, healthcare, and hospitality industries. Mrs. Vion-Gillespie is the Manager of Employee Relations for Time Warner Cable, whose mission is to connect people and businesses with information, entertainment and each other. Before re-joining TWC in 2009, Mrs. Vion-Gillespie was the Director of Employee Relations & Compliance for SAS, the leader in business intelligence and analytics for over nine years. She began her career in human resources at QVC Network twenty-one years ago and has continually worked in the field of human resources for a variety of industries where she actively coaches and develops staff, colleagues, and volunteer leaders with her proven ability to transfer job knowledge and create a succession pipeline. Teaching Interests: Mrs. Vion-Gillespie teaches Peace’s Spotlight Continuing Education Course. Spotlight courses are short courses in specific topic areas that quickly and intensively provide professionals with knowledge and skills in key HR competency areas. Mrs. Vion-Gillespie’s area of interest is in Affirmative Action and Impact Ratio Analysis. Her class has open discussions on the current court cases and need for affirmative action given today’s global economy. The class then walks through a simulation of writing an affirmative action plan complete with discrimination testing.
