Background: Carolann Wade serves a dual role as faculty with Peace College and as coordinator for National Board Certification for the Wake County Public School System. As liaison for the Wake County Public Schools/Peace College Partnership for Teacher Education, Wade teaches methods courses for pre-service teachers and connects the methods courses theory to practice in the Wake County partner schools in extensive field experiences. She also coordinates the National Board Certification program for Wake County Schools, the school system with the largest number of National Board Certified Teachers in the nation. Wade is a National Board Certified Teacher with 18 years of teaching experience, licensed in Elementary Education, Middle Grades Language Arts, Curriculum and Instruction, and Adult Supervision. Wade has extensive experience supporting and mentoring pre-service and beginning teachers as a cooperating teacher, as a mentor, and as a coordinator for the Initially Licensed Teacher program for Wake County Schools.

Background: Karel DiFranco is the Coordinator of Special Education Programs at Peace College. Prior to this, she was an adjunct college instructor of psychology at Meredith College for nine years. In addition, Karel has fifteen years experience teaching students with disabilities in elementary, middle, and high schools. Her interests and experience with students with learning and behavior disabilities has led to the publication of the book, Teach for Success: Successful Strategies for All Students Including Students with Special Needs.
