Communication is the branch of language arts which focuses on the comprehensive expressions of sound, visual, oral and written symbols. Study in communications is geared toward understanding the many ways human beings develop, collect, disseminate and transfer information through symbols, particularly via the mass media. Also included are the various ways in which communication serves to inform, persuade, entertain, and control.
