Education

The Education Major has been designed with the help of representatives from the Wake County public school system - people who understand what teachers need to know and the skills they need to master. Peace's program is unique in that it is a "blended" program in which students earn licensure in both elementary education (K-6) and in Special Education: General Curriculum (K-12).

The program is designed to provide students plenty of classroom experience and opportunities to work with experienced teachers. Program designers expect that the program will serve to increase the number of well-prepared prospective teachers who are interested in applying for teaching positions in North Carolina.

Education Majors do two student teaching assignments- 1 in elementary education and 1 in special education in lieu of an internship.
