Financial Aid FAQs
Applying For Financial Aid
How do I apply for financial aid?
For most types of aid offered at Peace College, students only need to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to submit a FAFSA online. The Peace College priority filing deadline is March 15th. This means that students who have filed a FAFSA by this date will be among the first considered to receive certain types of financial aid, since funds for some grants and scholarships are limited. If you miss the priority deadline, you may still be eligible to receive financial aid and are encouraged to file.
I'm transferring to Peace College from another school. What do I need to do to receive financial aid?
If you have not submitted a FAFSA, you will need to do so and list Peace College in the school section. You will need our federal school code: 002953. If you have already completed the FAFSA but did not list Peace College in the school section, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and under Step #3, click on Add a School Code. Once the Office of Financial Aid receives your information, we will notify you of your financial aid award and required paperwork.
What other financial aid do I need to apply for at Peace College?
By completing the FAFSA, you are applying for all eligible institutional, state and federal financial aid that you may be entitled to. All financial aid awards that you are eligible for will be included and listed on your award letter that will be mailed to you.
Does financial aid cover the cost of books?
It is the responsibility of the student to plan for the cost of books for each semester. You should plan on $400-500 each semester. You can always borrow additional money to cover this expense through Alternative Education and/or PLUS loans.
What additional fees and/or costs can be expected?
Other fees can include but are not limited to the following:
Orientation Fee, Parking Fee, Stop Payment Requests, Returned Check Fee, Identification Card, Replacement Identification Card, Books, Supplies, Spending Money, Applied Music Lessons (Voice, Piano, Organ), Technology Fees and Lab Fees. All rates are subject to change on a year to year basis. Please contact the Business Office at 919-508-2318 for more information or additional questions or visit the tuition and fees site.
