Are you considering a teaching career?
On December 4, 2007 the President's Cabinet voted unanimously to support the Faculty's decision to make Teacher Education a stand-alone major at Peace College.
It's a rewarding profession - one in which you can help shape the future by teaching the children of today. It's also a profession in which there is high demand for new educators, including in our local area and in North Carolina.
Peace College has established a new - and innovative - program to prepare students to become teachers.
Peace's Teacher Education Program has been designed with the help of representatives from the Wake County Public School System - people who understand what teachers need to know and the skills they need to master. Peace's program is unique in that it is a "blended" program in which students are prepared to be licensed in both elementary education and in special education (general curriculum).
The program is designed to provide students plenty of classroom experience and opportunities to work with experienced teachers. Program designers expect that the program will serve to increase the number of well-prepared prospective students who are interested in applying for teaching positions in the Wake County Public School System.
