What does it take to be considered a full-time student?
You will need to register for 12 credit hours to be considered a full-time student. Any less (11 or less credit hours) is considered part-time status. Part-time students are not eligible for merit awards or full assistance with financial aid. However, the Office of Financial Aid and the Office of Admissions will work with part-time students to help them find the best way to finance their education at Peace College.

Is Peace College fully accredited?
Peace College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate degrees. Is a computer required?
A computer is not required, but highly recommended. Technology services provided by Peace College include Peace e-mail accounts, storage space for personal web pages, and Internet access. Computer labs are located in Finch Library and Flowe Building. All workstations provide network and Internet access. All enrolled students are assigned an e-mail account by ITT.

What is the chapel requirement?
Religious life is enhanced through weekly chapel services, which are required for first-year and transfer students. Peace College is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) through the First Presbyterian Church of Raleigh. However, the college is not sectarian, and students from other religions attend Peace.
Are there any study abroad opportunities?
Yes, we have a number of study abroad opportunities here at Peace College. Every summer we have three to five short programs led by Peace College faculty. For this upcoming summer we have programs in Greece, Italy, London, Mexico, and Qatar. Our students can also participate in programs led by other colleges and institutions. For example, we are a member of a consortium with Central College. Last summer a student studied Spanish in Granada, Spain while living with a local family with Central College. When must I declare my major?
We highly recommend that your major is declared by the end of your sophomore year.
How many faculty members hold a doctorate or terminal degree?
Eighty-three percent of Peace College full-time faculty have the highest degree in their field. At Peace College you will not find a teacher's assistant teaching any of our courses offered.

How long does it take to graduate?
Taking the average semester load of 15 credit hours per semester should allow a student to graduate in 4 years. Additionally, 91% of our graduates finish college in 4 years.

Does the college offer tutoring services?
Yes, the Learning and Writing Center offers its services to Peace College students without charge. Honors students volunteer their time and assistance to those students who desire help with their course work. Students may sign up for tutoring in any subject.
Is there an honors program at Peace College?
Yes, Peace College currently has an honors program. The honors program has specific GPA and SAT/ACT requirements that must be met in order for acceptance into the program. What happens if classes are full or not available to students at Peace College?
Peace College is a participating member of the Cooperating Raleigh Colleges (CRC) Consortium. Other participating institutions are North Carolina State University, St. Augustine's, Meredith and Shaw University. Through the program a student from Peace who needs a pre-professional course not offered on campus may enroll in the course at a member institution without having to transfer to that institution. A student in need of such courses not offered at Peace should contact her faculty advisory, division chair, or the Registrar. Registration for courses through the CRC program is handled in the Registrar's Office. CRC credits count as credits taken at Peace College.
What is the Peace College Honor Code?
"On my honor as a Peace College student, I will not lie, cheat or steal; nor will I condone the actions of those who do."
The primary goals of the Honor Code are to develop strength of character and to promote a wholesome atmosphere on campus with mutual trust and self-respect. An effective honor system is possible only if students believe in its importance and uphold it. Peace students are bound by the Student Code of Conduct, which is also a part of the Honor Code. The Honor Code establishes the minimum standards of conduct for maintaining the academic integrity of the college. The Student Code of Conduct establishes the minimum standards of conduct in non-academic matters. All new students are given an opportunity to sign the Honor Code during the fall semester, to demonstrate their commitment to upholding it.

What is the Peace Passport?
As part of our commitment to challenging women to an adventure of intellectual and personal discovery, Peace has adopted Peace Passport as the Liberal Education Program.
Peace Passport combines a program of courses with a sequence of learning experiences designed to provide you with an outstanding educational foundation. By grounding our requirements in liberal education, Peace Passport focuses on the importance of having a broad background in the arts, humanities, and sciences while also emphasizing skills needed for your professional and personal life.
Upon matriculation, all students will receive a passport document which summarizes both the academic and co-curricular requirements and opportunities at Peace College. Use this passport to guide and inspire yourself and also to record your accomplishments while at Peace College.

Is an internship required for all students at Peace College?
Yes, all Peace College students are required to fulfill the internship opportunity requirement. Academic internships are open to second semester juniors and seniors and are offered through each of the major programs. These internships offer three to six credit hours of academic credit for planned and supervised work experience. The student will apply the skills, knowledge, and theories developed in the classroom to professional work responsibilities. Internships are required for graduation and are graded.
