Safety Alerts at Peace
Peace College's emergency notification systems
Peace College uses several different systems to notify the Peace community in the event of emergency.
AlertNow phone messages
The College contracts with AlertNow, allowing Peace administrators to send recorded messages to telephones, including cell phones. The College uses the phone numbers provided by students when they enroll. The numbers are updated with new phone numbers provided during Registration Confirmation each semester. Using this database of phone numbers, the College has the capability of sending messages to various audiences, such as all students, employees and students' parents. We also have the capability of sending tailored messages intended for individual groups, such as commuter students or residential students. To sign up for the AlertNow system, students simply need to provide updated phone number information when they enroll for college and register for classes.
PACER Alert text messages
The PACER Alert system - based on technology we lease from a firm called Rave Wireless - is designed to send short text messages to text-enabled cell phones. The PACER Alert system requires people to sign up for the service. Once you are signed up, you can receive alerts announcing weather closings and delays or information concerning campus emergencies. Signing up for PACER Alerts is easy. Follow these instructions:
1. Open your web browser to Rave Wireless website (http://getrave.com)
2. Select Peace College from the list of colleges.
3. Enter your Peace College login name and password in the spaces provided.
4. On the login page (with the Peace College logo), enter your Peace username and password. NOTE: If you receive a login or password error when attempting to connect, enter your username in all lowercase lettering.
5. On the Create Account page, enter your First Name, Last Name, Mobile Number and Preferred Email in the spaces provided.
6. Select Next after agreeing to Rave's Term of Use.
After a few additional confirmation steps, the registration process will be complete and you will be signed up with the PACER Alert service. This web-based service is user friendly and very intuitive. Please take a moment now to sign up for the PACER Alert system.

Inclement Weather Line
Peace College has an Inclement Weather Line which we use to convey information concerning weather-related delays or closings through a recorded announcement. The recording may be reached by dialing 919-508-2390 or by dialing the campus' main number - 919-508-2000 - and choosing the option for the Inclement Weather Line. The line may also be used to provide information through recorded messages in the event of a campus emergency.
