Peace Strengthens: They knew I had it in me.

Peace College Chamber Singers

The Peace College Chamber Singers ensemble is the college's premier choral group, performing music from all style periods, from Gregorian chant to Bach to jazz. Serving as ambassadors for the College, the students present numerous performances throughout the state and region, appearing in schools, churches, and for civic organizations.

In addition to performances in Washington's National Cathedral and Williamsburg's Bruton Parish, the Chamber Singers have presented concerts throughout Europe, where performance venues have included Notre Dame and St. Chapelle in Paris, St. Mark's in Venice, Christ Church in Oxford, and Canterbury Cathedral. They returned to Europe for their seventh tour in May of 2007, performing in Spain, France, and Italy. Highlights of the tour included performances in the Duomo in Florence and in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The Chamber Singers have performed with internationally known saxophonist Branford Marsalis and members of the North Carolina Symphony, and have commissioned works from several composers, including Stephen Hatfield, Kirby Shaw, and Jackson Berkey.
