Peace Strengthens: They knew I had it in me.

Procedure for Self Disclosure

In order to protect a student's rights under the law, it is important that these procedures be followed. The Disability Resource Center is small and our staff hours are limited, but we want every student who is entitled to accommodations to have the full use of them from the beginning of each semester. Please help us to make that happen!

  • Upon acceptance to Peace College, the student will receive a package from the Admissions office. The Disability Resource Center brochure is included in this package. Our brochure outlines the disclosure process (the steps the student must take to register with DRC and receive accommodations).
  • If a student wishes accommodations, she must contact the Disability Resource Center and provide recent documentation of the disability. We ask that documentation to be sent by May 1st for Fall matriculation, and October 15th for Spring matriculation.
  • If current documentation already exists, we will review it upon receipt and schedule an initial appointment to review our procedures and develop an accommodations plan with the student.
  • If documentation is needed, we will provide the student with information to assist in obtaining proper documentation.
  • It can take a month or more to complete the Disability Resource Center registration process and establish accommodations. Documentation should be sent as soon as possible to:
