Greet Visitors Attending Today’s ‘Acceptance Day’
The Admissions Office is holding an “Acceptance Day” event today for prospective students and their families. Activities will be held all across campus as we showcase Peace. Help greet our visitors as you come across them today.  

 

 

Julie Lawson Has a Girl!
Julie and Wes Lawson are proud parents of a baby girl. Paige Elise Lawson was born on Saturday morning. Everyone is doing well.  

 

 

‘Cry Havoc’ Opens Wednesday
Peace College Theatre’s production of “Cry Havoc” opens Wednesday, running for two weekends. The play takes audiences on a journey through the lives of eight volunteers and three soldiers in the Bataan area of the Philippines in 1942, in the face of the advancing Japanese army. Kristal DeSantis leads a cast of 13. “Cry Havoc” runs February 11-14 and February 18-21 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for faculty and staff and $15 for the general public. Tickets are free to Peace College students. To order tickets call 2051 or email theatre@peace.edu. 

 

 

‘Lunch and Learnon Wednesday Features Price
Don’t miss Wednesday’s Lunch and Learn lecture that will feature Dr. Bill Price in a talk entitled "How N.C. Got To Be the Way It Is." Price's talk begins at noon in Jones Lecture Hall.
   

 

 

Lauren Holmes moves to HR
Lauren Holmes been promoted to payroll and benefits administrator, reporting to Kate Trimble in Human Resources. She’ll be taking over the duties JoAnn Sauls had performed.  

 

 

Master Chorale tickets available
The North Carolina Master Chorale Chamber Choir presents its popular winter concert entitled “Romance In The Air” in Kenan Recital Hall on Saturday, February 14. Our own Jim Smith performs with the Chorale at the 4:00 and 7:30 p.m. concerts. A few complimentary tickets ($16 value each) are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Bellydance Lessons Offered Monday Afternoons
Faculty and staff are invited to join the bellydance lessons that take place Mondays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The free lessons are held in the dance studio, upstairs in the Hermann Center. Contact Lisa Allred Draper, 508-2505, for more information. 

 

Tax Help Available

Blue Cross rewards program revamped for 2009
If you are a Blue Cross subscriber, check out the new Blue Points program. It has been totally revamped for 2009, with more ways to earn points, and a broader range of prizes and rewards available. Go to www.bcbsnc.com, and create a log-in ID and password if you don't already have one. The new program leads you through an on-line health assessment, provides logs for tracking your dietary initiatives (more veggies!), and features many, many links to other helpful information. Call HR if you need help logging in.

Use Office Services’ Letter Stuffing Machine
Did you know Office Services can help stuff your next mailing? James Ballentine has a machine in his area that can fold up to two sheets of paper and stuff them into an envelope. The sheets to stuff must be provided flat (not previously folded) so the machine can pick them up accurately.
