Campus Forum today at 11 a.m.
A Campus Forum will be held today at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Among the topics will be updates on the budget, new academic programs and the Promise of Peace Campaign. All employees should attend if their schedules permit.
Manning Chamber Music Concert Tonight
Peace College faculty members Virginia Vance and Milton Rubén Laufer, with members of the N.C. Symphony, will perform on Monday night a chamber music concert of works by Handel and Mozart. The concert will feature a Steinway piano used by famed pianist Van Cliburn. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Peace College’s Kenan Recital Hall. Admission is free.
RSVP to play ‘Capture the Flag’ on Wednesday
The Campus Activities Board is organizing a students vs. faculty-staff game of “Capture the Flag” to be held on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Please RSVP to Immie Miles at icmiles@peace.edu. Walk-ons will be welcome too.
Peace Garden Club Forming
An initial planning meeting for those interested in forming a Garden Club to enhance the beauty of the Peace campus will be held Thursday, Feb. 26, at noon in the President’s Dining Room, Belk Hall. Open to students, faculty, staff and alumnae, this group will meet to brainstorm and make plans for two Saturday workdays this spring. Lunch is through the line at your own expense.
Pacer Athletics Yard Sale This Week
The Peace College athletics department will hold a yard sale beginning Tuesday, February 17, in Belk lobby. The sale will run through the week during lunch hours, as well as during both weekend games in the Hermann Student Center lobby. The basketball team hosts Mary Baldwin Friday night at 6:00 pm and Averett University Saturday at 2:00 pm. We will raffle a pink basketball signed by the 2008-2009 Peace College basketball team. Tickets available for $2. The drawing will be held during halftime of the Averett game, but you do not have to be present to win. All proceeds will go to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund to support education, advocacy, and research to fight women’s cancers as part of the week’s Pink Zone activities. Wear your PINK and GREEN and join us for the final two regular season basketball games.
Chaperones Sought for Red Rose Ball
We’re looking for faculty and staff chaperones for Red Rose Ball! Join the Campus Activities Board for this time honored tradition. Friday, April 3. 8:00 pm – 12:00 am. The Royal on Hillsborough St. Please email Cameron Hill at clhill@peace.edu if you are interested in helping. Each chaperone will help in various areas throughout the night as well as have some time to just enjoy the event. Please indicate if you are interested in helping for the whole dance or for part of the evening (i.e. 8:00pm – 10:00pm or 10:00pm – 12:00am).
Peace College Theatre’s ‘Cry Havoc’
This is the last week of Peace College Theatre’s production of “Cry Havoc.” The play tells the story of American nurses and their struggle in 1942 at the beginning of the U.S. involvement in World War II. Shows are Wednesday through Saturday, starting at 7:30 p.m. in Leggett Theatre. Note that the News & Observer gave the play a great review over the weekend. Take Advantage of Bulk Discounts for Office Supplies and Printer Toner
Office Services purchases office supplies and printer toner in bulk at reduced rates. Be sure to go through James Ballentine for all your office supply and printer toner needs as opposed to placing individual departmental orders. Orders can be placed via email or through forms on the Office Services counter. Supply orders exceeding $50 and any printer toner orders require a signed purchase requisition.
Save Money on your office printing needs
Is the copier in your area networked for printing? Save money on your printing costs by networking your departmental copy machine and print directly to it for your everyday needs. The cost of copier toner is included in our lease, thus, is not charged directly to your account. Printer cartridge toner is charged directly to your account. As a reminder, orders for printer cartridge must be completed on an approved purchase requisition with a budget code and forwarded to Office Services. Orders for copier toner can be emailed to James Ballentine, no account code is necessary.
