Commencement on Saturday
Peace's 137^th Commencement will be held on Saturday. The event begins at 10 a.m., and will be held on the Peace Green, weather permitting. The Commencement speaker will be Cynthia Marshall, president of AT&T North Carolina. The student speaker will be Lauren Manns. The Commencement ceremony will be preceded by the Baccalaureate service on Friday, 7:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Peace Biology students and faculty attend N.C. Academy of Science meeting
Biology students Laura Azzu, Holly Dowling, Rebecca Hailey, Randal McLean, Emma Weavil, and Kim Zullo along with Biology Faculty Lisa Bonner, Patrick Myer, and Joe Wolf attended the 106^th annual North Carolina Academy of Sciences meeting April 3-4 at Warren Wilson College in Asheville. Biology Senior Rebecca Hailey presented her research with Dr. Bonner and Dr. Myer, entitled "Effect of Periodic Flooding on Community Structure in Lotic Ecosystems." Biology senior Laura Azzu presented her research with Dr. Wolf, entitled "A Novel Growth Inhibitor from Bacillus cereus GS1 is Susceptible to Protease Action in Stationary Phase Cultures." Biology senior Holly Dowling, who also worked with Dr. Wolf, presented her research entitled "Western Blot Analysis of Carbonic Anhydrase from Bacillus mycoides 6462" and was awarded third place in the Microbiology section. Please congratulate these students for their accomplishments and for representing Peace College.

Report flu-like symptoms
