RALEIGH, N.C. (May 14, 2009) - Peace College, in its 137^th commencement ceremony, has conferred bachelor's degrees to 113 women.

 

Graduates received their diplomas in a ceremony on May 9 that featured Cynthia Marshall, president of AT&T North Carolina, as commencement speaker. Lauren Manns of Richmond, Va., was the student speaker.

 

Peace is a liberal arts and sciences college that concentrates on providing a close and intensive academic environment for women. Peace students consistently have rated the school highly in the National Survey of Student Engagement. In NSSE's most recent survey, seniors' ratings placed Peace College in the top 10 percent of schools nationwide in three of the five categories of the survey.
