Reminder: Urban Ministries needs children’s books
Mari Lippig reports that they have learned that Urban Ministries of Wake County is in great need for children’s’ books. Many families take their sick children to the Urban Ministries Open Door Clinic and also take their well children when they go to pick up food, prescriptions, financial assistance and other helpful community connections to help stabilize their lives. The children’s books provide entertainment while the children wait for their families or their doctors. The children are encouraged to take books home. We have placed a signed book bin on our Wellness Center corridor outside the Student Waiting Room. You may come and deposit books anytime.  The books should be in good condition with no missing pages. If you are unable to drop off your books, we will make arrangements to come and pick up books. This will be an ongoing project throughout the summer months. So, please do think about donating all your unwanted children’s books and also we would so appreciate if you could ask neighbors and friends to donate. We will give you a weekly update on the numbers of books we are able to take to Urban Ministries.
