Bianca Boles of Knightdale Wins Human Resources Society Award

RALEIGH, N.C. (July 17, 2009) - Bianca Boles, a Peace College junior who lives in Knightdale, has been named one of eight winners in the Southeast of a Society for Human Resource Management $5,000 internship sponsorship.

 

The award marks the second year in a row that at Peace student has won one of the SHRM sponsorships.

 

Boles's award will support her while she performs an internship in the human resources office at Peace College. In the internship she will perform generalist HR functions, such as assisting with payroll and managing benefits programs. She also plans to develop a new orientation program for new college employees.

 

The SHRM award is awarded based on applicants' grades, involvement in campus leadership, the scope of each applicant's internship and involvement in the student chapter of SHRM.

 

Boles plans to become a leadership development consultant. She developed an interest in a career in human resources when she joined the Future Business Leaders of America when she was in high school.

 

"I talked with my advisor about career goals and we both agreed that the human side of business fit my personality," she said. "I looked for human resources majors and found Peace College. I am so thankful I did because now I am following my dreams."
