Susan Childs delivers newest member of Peace family
We received this news from Susan Childs:
We welcomed Mary Brooks Childs late Saturday afternoon, 8/8/09. She weighs 7 lbs and is 20.5 inches long. It was a pretty quick delivery and Mary and I are both doing well, just lacking a little sleep (at least I am, not so much Mary). Looking forward to being discharged Monday morning. Brothers Ricky and Cooper were up to visit today and enjoyed meeting their new sister.
‘Transfer Transitions’ orientation for transfer students today and Friday
Transfer Transitions, our new orientation program for transfer students, will take place today, Aug. 10, and Friday, Aug. 14 with approximately 20 transfer students and their families attending each session. Please be mindful that they will be parking in Main Parking Lot and you may see them around campus, so please greet all guests with a friendly “hello” and answer any questions they may have! Attached is the schedule for the program. Thank you again to all staff and faculty who are assisting with orienting our transfer students!
Benefit enrollment and clarification on changes for our new plan year
Faculty and staff are asked to plan on attending one of the two offered meetings next week to hear about the benefit changes that will go into effect with our 2009-2010 plan year and our new enrollment procedures. A representative from Hill, Chesson & Woody will be here from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Monday, Aug. 17 and again on Tuesday, Aug. 18 in the chapel located on second floor Main. Several changes have been made with our plans so you will want to be present to hear how they will impact you. These changes will impact our medical, dental, life and long-term disability, plus flexible spending accounts.
Email systems set for upgrade
The ITT office is set to upgrade Peace College’s email systems this weekend. The upgrade work is set to begin Saturday morning and take approximately eight hours to complete. ITT says that your email address, password and currently stored mail items will not be impacted by this upgrade. Also, the Microsoft Outlook 2007 settings on your Peace computer will not have to be changed. However, if you also access your email remotely through the web or through a mobile phone, you will need to create a new login to access your accounts. Detailed information regarding remote access to email is included in a separate email being sent to employees and students today.
