Flu shot clinic today, 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The Peace College Wellness Center will be holding another flu clinic today to allow you to get your seasonal flu shot. The clinic will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Student Health Services. Flu shots will be provided free for those with Blue Cross, Aetna, Humana Gold and Medicare B insurance coverage. Please bring your insurance card. People without those coverages may get a flu shot at this clinic for $30. The clinic will be run on first-come, first-served basis, and we promise will work hard to get you in and out as fast as possible.
Pacer athletics opens home season
Peace College athletics opens its at-home season this week. The volleyball squad opens the conference season Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Hermann Gym. Peace will be hosting the Cougars, who finished third in the 2008 regular season. In soccer, Peace hosts Randolph College on Saturday at WakeMed Soccer Park (#4) at 4 p.m. And, the cross country team returns to Raleigh for the local Reebok Wolfpack Invitational also at the soccer park. The Pacers run at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Come out and support the Pacers!
PCT’s ‘The Shape of Things’ opens Wednesday
Peace College Theatre’s first production of 2009-10, “The Shape of Things,” opens Wednesday. Tickets are now available online. The play runs through Sept. 26, except for Sundays and Mondays. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. in Leggett Theatre. For this play, mature audiences only, as it is not appropriate for children under 16. Reduced cost tickets are available online at Peace College Theatre’s website, theatre.peace.edu. Purchase of season tickets will save you more.
Study abroad applications due Sept. 18
Please let your students know that all applications for spring 2010 study abroad programs are due on Friday. Applications may be downloaded from the Peace web site – Academics-International Studies-Forms or may be obtained from the International Office in Main # 15. Questions? Bellydance classes begin today
Free Bellydance classes are starting up today. The classes are sponsored by the Wellness Center and taught by Lisa Allred Draper. Staff, faculty and students are all welcome to attend. This year you have two options for Bellydance classes:
· Bellydance for Fun and Fitness will be offered in the dance studio in Hermann on Mondays from 5:15-6 pm.
· Bellydance for Performance will meet on Mondays from 4:30-5:15. Anyone who is interested in performing is also required to attend at least one of the fitness classes. For more information or to register please email Lisa Allred Draper at ldraper@peace.edu
SHRM seeks donations for silent auction
The Peace College chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management is seeking items to be included in its Second Annual Chordoma Foundation Silent Auction. The auction will be held on October 29 in Main Parlor. If you have any goods, ideas, or services that you are willing to offer, please email Kathy Corley at KCorley@peace.edu. The 2008-09 Honor Roll of Donors is online
In an effort to conserve paper and save expensive printing costs, Peace College is making available to the public and our campus community the 2008-2009 Honor Roll of Donors – online only. In support of our campus-wide effort to encourage sustainability and recycling practices, printed copies are available only upon request and require a $3 shipping and handling charge. The 2008-2009 Honor Roll of Donors will be available here and you may choose to print it on your own printer from the PDF file we provide. We hope you understand our commitment to sustainability and support our campus-wide green efforts. Be sure to tell your colleagues, the 2008-2009 Honor Roll of Donors is online now!
