Presidential search firm meeting with campus groups
Representatives of Academic Search, the firm that has been hired to assist in the search for Peace’s next president, will hold a series of meetings with employees this week. A schedule of meetings was sent by email by Sandy Briscar on Friday. An open meeting for employees is scheduled for Friday at 1:15 p.m. in the Admissions Conference Room. 

 

Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week events this week
Students will be holding a series of events this week to mark Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. Among the events will be a food waste weigh-in, a sleepout, a special Chapel speaker and service projects. Please watch for more details and support our students.
 

 

Peace College Theatre’s ‘Scapin’ opens Wednesday
Peace College Theatre’s production of the Moliere comedy “Scapin” opens Wednesday.
The play features students Jessica Dixon, Megan Parker, Johanna Coats, Katja Swarovskaia, Solana Sparks, Madeline Anderson, Aneisha Montague, Elisabeth Brewer, Sara McLamb, Liz McDonald, Emily Kinney and Sidney Edwards. The run lasts only until Saturday, so get your tickets now. Tickets are available online at theatre.peace.edu. 

 

Unum representative holding info/enrollment sessions
A Unum representative will be on campus November 17 – 24, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day, to hold individual 20-minute information and enrollment meetings for all eligible employees. Tuesday, Nov. 17, he will be in the Music Building, upstairs over the lobby of Kenan Recital Hall.  Wednesday, Nov. 18 – Tuesday, Nov. 24 he will meet with employees in Flowe 104. The Unum rep must see every eligible employee (full-time faculty and staff, PPT faculty assigned 5 or more units per year, and staff who work 20 or more hours per week).  Call Kate Trimble at x2028 or Lauren Holmes at x2032 to make an appointment, or email lholmes@peace.edu with three open times you can meet. 

 

Fall Internship Showcase on Wednesday
Come find out what some of our students are doing in their internships Wednesday at the Internship Fall Showcase. The event, which features students and their poster presentations, will take place in Main Parlor from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. Come out to learn more about our students’ accomplishments! Jackie Ammons Memorial Basketball Tournament opens Pacer basketball season
The annual Jackie Ammons Memorial Basketball Tournament opens Friday, featuring Peace hosting Salem College, Bennett College and Salisbury University. The first game begins at 6 p.m. Friday, between Salem and Bennett. Peace plays Salisbury, with tipoff at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday’s action begins at 1 p.m. with the consolation game, followed by the championship game at 3 p.m. come out and cheer your Pacer basketball team as it launches its 2009-2010 season!
