William Peace University invites members of the WPU Community for a Broadway Comes to Peace "Homecoming Concert" on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at 7 p.m. in Kenan Hall.
Broadway actress, Erin Davie, along with WPU Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre, Jason Dula, WPU's BFA and BA Theatre Majors and members of the William Peace University Singers will perform in a very special Homecoming Concert as part of William Peace Theatre's "Broadway Comes to Peace" concert series. The performance will include a sneak peek at this year's upcoming Musical Theatre Season.
Erin's Broadway performances include a role as Countess Charlotte Malcolm in the recent revival of A Little Night Music with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Angela Landsbury, Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch. Young Little Edie in Grey Gardens (Theatre World Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut) opposite Christine Ebersole. Both of which she recorded on Grammy nominated original cast albums. Erin also starred on Broadway as Niki Harris in Curtains starring David Hyde Pierce. Off-Broadway: The Glorious Ones (Lincoln Center Theater), Applause (Eve Harrington; Encores). Tours: Swing!, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Guys and Dolls. As William Peace Theatre's Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre, Jason Dula directed the university's first musical performance in the spring of 2012, Cabaret. Jason is a native of North Carolina and graduated from the NC School of the Arts with a degree in Vocal Performance. He is currently receiving his Masters in Educational Theatre from the City College of New York. As a professional actor, Jason toured the country as Philippe in the Maury Yeston Phantom. He has performed Off-Broadway in Make Me A Song; Lingoland; Click, Clack, Moo; The Grass Harp and New Girl In Town. He sang with Linda Eder at the Gershwin and Palace Theatres on Broadway as well as at Mohegan Sun and on her Bravo TV Christmas Special. He was also featured among the talents of Kelli O'Hara, Kristen Chenoweth, and Linda Lavin in "Some Enchanted Evening" celebrating the music of Richard Rodgers, Mary Rodgers and Adam Guettel; musically directed by Mary Mitchell Campbell and directed by Christopher Gatelli. Regionally Jason has appeared in The Spitfire Grill (Joe Sutter), Beauty and the Beast (Beast), I Love You, You're Perfect Now Change (Man 2), Carousel (Enoch Snow), Ragtime (Younger Brother) and Cabaret (Cliff).
