William Peace University is pleased to open to the public our annual Lunch & Learn Series.
Rev. Dr. R. Lee Carter, William Peace University's William C. Bennett Chaplain, will be the guest speaker for the WPU Community at November's Lunch & Learn.
Dr. Carter's topic will speak on “The Myths We Live By.” Dr. Carter will examine myths not as “lies” or “ignorant imaginings,” but as the stories that shape perceptions of the world and of others, stories that shape identities as persons and as stories that provide direction for facing life’s challenges and for finding a way through it’s different stages.
"Myths are springs of our collective wisdom, from ancient times to the present and have parallels in cultures around the world, Dr. Carter said. "If we all live our lives through myths, then our consciousness of these stories helps us better determine which we have outgrown(and need to be discarded) and which might provide for us a better paradigm for effective living."
The event will include a bag lunch provided by Sodexo. Register early!
