Raleigh, N.C. – Peace College Head Cross Country Coach Jerry Nuesell resigned his post this week after serving two seasons with the Pacers.

Nuesell joined Peace College September 2008 as the associate dean for advising and retention and will maintain this position with the college. He added cross country to the mix the following spring.

Under Nuesell’s guidance, recent May graduate Kimberly Zullo earned placement on the USA South’s first team all-conference during her single season with Peace in 2009. Zullo finished the conference championship meet in eleventh place with the time of 25:41.1 to help the Pacers to a seventh-place finish overall.
Junior runner Allison Gilmore earned second team all-conference honors this fall with her sixteenth-place finish in the October 30 championship meet. Gilmore’s time of 26:29.0 demonstrated an improvement of more than four minutes while under Nuesell’s direction and by more than seven minutes during her three-year tenure with the Pacers.

"I would like to thank Coach Nuesell for his hard work and dedication to the cross country team. Coach Nuesell has made the team competitive in the USA South the past two seasons, and he will be missed by both our student-athletes as well as the athletics staff," commented Director of Athletics Kelly Johnson.
