For the 2014-15 performing arts season, the Manning Series will include 5 free concerts ranging from jazz, classical and contemporary to Broadway performances. William Peace University To Host Aquafina

Four-Year Baccalaureate University Sponsors Major League Baseball’s Free Contest To Recognize Individual Excellence In Core Softball Skills For Girls

 

RALEIGH, N.C. – William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that it will sponsor the Aquafina® Major League Baseball® Pitch, Hit & RunTM Competition for girls on Sunday, April 1 starting at 10 a.m. at the Wachovia Athletic Park, located on campus at 15 E. Peace St. As the official skills competition for Major League Baseball®, this grassroots program for girls ages 7 to 14 provides a free opportunity to participate in an event that recognizes individual excellence in core softball skills. Competitors are divided into four age ranges – 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 – and have the chance to advance to four levels of competition, including Team Championship at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2012 MLBTM All-Star Game. The individual pitching, hitting and running champions, along with the all-around champion in each group in the local competition, will advance to the Sectional Level of competition.

 

"As part of our continuing outreach to the local community, William Peace University is honored to sponsor this athletic competition," said Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., president of William Peace University. "This event will provide the girls with a great, constructive opportunity to hone their athletic skills. We wish all participants the best of luck and invite everyone to come out and cheer for these players."
