  • February 5, 2015 The Piano Lesson A Celebrating Black History Month Event William Peace Theatre presents August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, The Piano Lesson, directed by Amy White, M.F.A., through special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. In Pittsburgh’s Hill District in 1936, the Charles family battle their surroundings and each other over their shared legacy -- an antique piano. The fourth play of August Wilson’s epic Century Cycle, The Piano Lesson is a stunning and moving drama of family, history, and survival. William Peace University Receives Two 2012 MetroBravo Awards

Local Four-Year Baccalaureate University Recognized By Metro Magazine As A Premier Institution And Campus

RALEIGH, N.C. – William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that the institution received two 2012 MetroBravo Awards from Metro Magazine. The university received a standing ovation, the MetroBravo equivalent of first place, in the Best Private College category, as well as an honorable mention, the MetroBravo equivalent to third place, for Best Campus Building for its Main Building located in the heart of campus. In the latter category, William Peace University tied with the Friendly Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Voted on each year by readers of Metro Magazine, MetroBravo Award results are based on the opinions and perspective of the local community.
