William Peace University to Launch New Major in Marketing Beginning Next Fall
Local Four-Year Baccalaureate University
Expands Curriculum with New Major Starting Fall of 2016

RALEIGH, N.C., November 18, 2015 – William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in the heart of downtown Raleigh, is proud to announce it has added a new major in Marketing as part of its Bachelor of Science Program. The major will be offered to students beginning in the fall of 2016, and will provide a new and exciting degree path in a fast-growing field.

Marketing is currently offered as a concentration at William Peace University and is one of the more popular degree tracks within the Business Administration major. Nationally, Marketing is among the top 10 most desired degrees by employers, according to a 2015 study conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), a Bethlehem, PA non-profit that links college career placement offices with employers. Additionally, a 2014 report by Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce recognized Marketing and Marketing Research as a top 10 most popular major in America, citing an average salary of nearly $60,000.

The addition of Marketing reflects a University trend of implementing degree programs that are built on the strengths of the institution, match student interest and have outstanding opportunities for employment and/or graduate school.  The majors are coupled with a rigorous liberal education component designed to foster creativity, critical thinking and ethical decision making. Over the last several years, the University has implemented the following majors, minors, and concentrations: Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Environmental Studies, Forensics, Global Studies, Leadership and Management Studies, Musical Theatre, Pre-Law, Religion, Simulation and Game Design, Sport Management, Writing, and Women’s Studies. With the addition of Marketing, William Peace University now offers 19 majors, along with more than a dozen minors and concentrations.
