“Raleigh has given my family and me a very warm welcome in our short time here and I am excited to serve in this capacity and start to give back,” Ralph said.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Ralph onto our Advisory Board,” said Douglas Andrew, Alexander Family YMCA Branch Executive Director. “He is an exceptional leader in our community and we are grateful that he has chosen to serve through our YMCA. We know that his involvement will help us to further expand our service to the community.”
During his time at Queens University in Charlotte, NC, Ralph served on the Board of the Morrison Family YMCA for nine years and the Executive Board for three years. In addition, he was the recipient of the George Williams Award for Volunteer Leadership in the YMCA of Greater Charlotte.
In his short tenure at WPU, Dr. Ralph has led a renaissance. Student success has improved substantially, WPU has added nine new majors and proudly placed 96 percent of its graduating class in jobs or graduate school within one year of their commencement, and many campus renovation projects have continued to take shape. Furthermore, the University successfully garnered a $100,000 grant from the Cannon Foundation, and has recently partnered with the YMCA of the Triangle to launch Men’s and Women’s Swimming, in addition to the recent announcement of Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse. The University will be launching its new Believe in Peace Strategic Plan in May and will develop a new campus master plan this summer.
