Christopher Baker

AmeriCorp Vista Volunteer Coordinator
Chris Baker, WPU staff member.

“I love how small WPU is and how close-knit the students are.”

Chris was born and raised in Kingsport, TN, but proudly calls North Carolina home. After attending college at Emory and Henry, he attended Milligan College for his master’s. He taught social studies for seven years in Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina. He then briefly attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for a Master’s of Library and Information Studies. Before coming to WPU, he worked on staff at the Smith Library at High Point University.

His favorite Raleigh food spot is Mitch’s Tavern on Hillsborough Street. Outside of work, Chris enjoys collecting records and hanging out with his dog, Parris, who lives on campus in Finley.
