  • Volunteer Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach
    William Peace University, a vibrant and diverse independent institution in Raleigh, NC, seeks applicants for a part-time Volunteer Assistant Coach for our new Women’s Lacrosse Team.  Reporting to the Director of Athletics/Associate Director of Athletics, the Volunteer Assistant Women’s lacrosse is responsible for assisting in the organization, management, administration and supervision of recruiting for William Peace University’s Women’s Lacrosse program and Strength and Conditioning Center. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: recruiting the first Women’s Lacrosse team in school history; troubleshooting, assisting with developing, adjusting and enforcing policies and procedures; equipment inventory and maintenance, including health and safety checks.  The Women’s Volunteer Assistant Lacrosse Coach may also be expected to assist with fitness programming for the University community; and to assist staff with the 16 NCAA Intercollegiate sports strength and conditioning programming. This position will require varied hours. Night and weekend hours will be required at various times throughout the year.   WPU is under the new leadership of Dr. Brian C. Ralph, who assumed office in August, 2015.  The institution is in a season of exciting change and will be undertaking a comprehensive strategic planning process in 2016.

    The Volunteer Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach will provide and implement yearly plans for recruiting, hiring, training, managing, and evaluating student-athletes for the Women’s Lacrosse team and exercise interns for the Strength and Conditioning Center. Duties include:

    • Recruit and coach under the Head Coach of the Women’s Lacrosse team
    • Assist with management and mentoring of students in the Strength and Conditioning Center
    • Communicate regularly with the Department of Athletics staff regarding important issues, program needs, and evolving policies and procedures
    • Assist with customer relations as needed

    The minimum qualifications for this position are:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • CPR/First Aid/AED Certified
    • Must be a self-started and demonstrate initiative when unsupervised

  • Public Safety Officers – Part-Time
    William Peace University, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, seeks applicants for two (2) part-time Public Safety Officer positions, each totaling 16 hours per week.  The first position will work each Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., the second position will work Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Reporting to the Director and the Assistant Director of Public Safety, this position provides public safety services to the University community.  Duties include but are not limited to enforcement of University’s rules and policies; responsibility for preventing and suppressing crime, protecting life and property; patrolling assigned areas on foot to ensure personal, building, and equipment is secure; maintenance of patrol logs, recording of occurrences, and completing necessary paperwork; informing and warning violator of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles; and working with local law enforcement agencies.  Duties also may require use of computers to input and retrieve data.  The officer is expected to comply with the University’s and the Department’s rules, regulations, and policies; perform his/her duties independently, utilize proper judgment, and maintain a high degree of professionalism. There are possible opportunities to pick up extra shifts when other scheduled permanent officers are not able to work due to being sick or on vacation. This position is non-exempt, and the selected candidate must be able to satisfactorily clear a complete background check. WPU is under the leadership of Dr. Brian C.
