Looking for a Pre-Med Major?

WPU’s biology program satisfies all the needed coursework for entry into healthcare programs, including pharmacy, medical, dental, physician assistant, physical therapy, and more.

As a Biology major at William Peace University, you’ll be able to explore challenging and cutting-edge coursework, including microbiology, biochemistry, cellular biology, and molecular biology. Students in the biology program enjoy small class sizes with experienced faculty members who take a stake in their future. Bachelor of Science in Biology

The Bachelor of Science track is a focused degree emphasizing math, chemistry, and physics and is an avenue for career paths in dental, medical, and veterinary fields, as well as graduate programs in these and other areas. The most efficient way to acquire the knowledge and courses needed to excel on the MCAT, DAT, PCAT other entrance exams is to earn a B.S. in biology.

The biology major provides undergraduate preparation for a wide variety of careers such as medical, dental, pharmacy, veterinary, medical technology and teaching. Biology majors learn to solve problems, work in teams and develop research and analytical skills. Graduates go on to careers in areas such as biotechnology, medical laboratory research, pharmaceutical sales, diet and nutrition and forensics.

WPU’s biology courses will satisfy the requirements you need for entry into healthcare programs, including pharmacy, medical, dental, physician assistant, physical therapy, and more. While there are some differences in course requirements across admission to various schools, there tends to be a common core list. This same roster of courses would pertain to students applying to dental programs, veterinary programs, physical therapy programs, physician assistant programs, pharmacy programs, etc. You’ll find all those courses available at WPU.
