Donor Advised Fund (DAF)

A donor advised fund (DAF) allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to easily support William Peace University and other public charities through cash, appreciated securities, and other assets. DAFs allow you to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants from your DAF account over time to the nonprofits you wish to support.

If you have already established a donor-advised fund and would like to recommend a grant or distribution to William Peace University electronically, you may do so through the DAF Direct online form by visiting our Donor Advised Fund page below. If you do not wish to make your DAF grant recommendation via DAF Direct, please direct your DAF sponsoring organization to make checks payable to William Peace University, federal tax ID (56-0529988), and send to the following mailing address:

William Peace University
Office of Advancement
15 East Peace Street
Raleigh, NC 27604

Donor Advised Funds

Those who give to the University through their donor advised fund do not receive a tax receipt from the University when the grant recommendation funds are secured, as they receive their tax deduction at the time that their contribution is made.

GIFT-IN-KIND

You can donate gifts of personal property, such as books, artwork, or equipment, while also securing an income tax deduction. Other gifts-in-kind can be gifts of service, gift certificates, etc.

SUSTAINING GIFT

Becoming a Sustainer makes giving easy and is cost effective, convenient, and efficient. You will receive less mail, fewer phone calls, and your bank account won’t feel the weight of a lump sum gift. Making a sustaining gift is a purposeful decision – reduced paper and postage costs allow WPU to be better stewards of natural resources, as well as your gift.

STOCK

Long-term, appreciated stocks and securities are almost always an excellent way to provide financial support. They provide a double benefit to you — a current income tax deduction and avoidance of capital gains taxes. You will receive a tax deduction based on the value of the security on the date of the gift. If you wish to donate gifts of securities to William Peace University, please contact the Office of Advancement at (919) 508-2586 Advancement@peace.edu.

ENDOWMENTS

An endowment is the principal source of dedicated, long-term financial support for the university. An endowed gift is one of the most powerful ways to have a lasting impact. It lends fiscal stability and enables the university to make dependable, long-term investments in high-quality academic programs and top faculty, as well as to ensure that the brightest students have access to a quality education.
