As a marketing major, you have many skills that can be applied to many jobs. Whether you’re interested in working in social media, event planning, or public relations, there are plenty of entry-level jobs for you. Each job requires different skills, but as a marketing major, you likely have the skills to succeed in each role. Research each job to see the best fit for you and your career goals. Social Media Manager: You will create and manage content across all social media platforms as a social media manager. This includes developing strategies, creating and curating content, managing social media campaigns, and engaging with followers. To succeed in this role, you should have strong writing and communication skills, be creative, and have experience with all major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) Additionally, it is helpful to be organized and have experience working with a team. 

Marketing Recruiter: A marketing recruiter is responsible for finding and hiring the best talent for marketing positions. This includes sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and performing reference checks. To be a marketing recruiter, you will need excellent communication skills, strong people skills, and well-organized. Additionally, it is helpful to have experience working in the marketing industry. 

Event Planner: This role is responsible for organizing and executing events. This includes everything from booking venues to coordinating catering to overseeing event logistics. To succeed in this role, you should be detail-oriented, organized, and have strong communication skills. Additionally, having experience working with a team and knowledge of event planning software is helpful. 

Many entry-level jobs for marketing majors use the skills learned in college. Whether you’re interested in social media, event planning, or recruiting, there is a job for you.
