#GoingToWPU | WPU Welcome Week Recap

William Peace University students rang in the new academic year with an action-packed Welcome Week schedule with numerous events held all across campus. Thanks to various campus departments and organizations, all of the events were free and open to all current WPU students and staff. Be sure to watch the highlight video above!
Here are just a few of the campus events held to welcome new and returning Pacers #GoingToWPU.

Wednesday, August 22nd
- First day of classes for every WPU student (FDOC)
- Seniors Last First Day, held for WPU seniors in the Pacer Hub
- Welcome Week Kick-Off Party, held in Belk Courtyard. Students enjoyed food, music, games and giveaways
- Digital Gaming Exhibit, held by Microsoft in the courtyard
- PaintU, held later that evening. PaintU is a heart-pounding, non-stop glow paint experience, dance party

Thursday, August 23rd
- Federal Work Study Interest Meeting, for WPU students find on-campus jobs
- Ice cream at the Vie, for WPU students living off-campus
- Unity Fest, a block party held on the northern end of campus with music, food, and activities

Friday, August 24th
- Connect with CSS Breakfast, breakfast provided for students by the Center for Student Success
- Puppies and Pops, therapy dogs and popsicles in Belk Couryard
- Pacer Pride Friday Launch Party, food, giveaways, and photos with WPU mascot, Phantom
- Welcome Back Comedy Show, featuring comedians Amberia Allen and T.Murph

Saturday, August 25th & Sunday August 26th
- Volleyball Scrimmage Games, student took in the WPU Volleyball team’s first scrimmage of the year
- Pacer Community Ice Cream Mixer, ice cream provided by the Office of Advancement for students, alumni and staff
- Pacer Glow Bash, a friendly but competitive game of glow-in-the-dark dodgeball
