Health and Safety Protocols to be Implemented for Return to Campus at WPU

June 18, 2020

William Peace University’s (WPU) senior leadership and Fall Planning teams continue meeting regularly to prepare to return to campus in August. To view the previously announced dates for fall semester at a high level, click here. For the full academic calendar, visit this link.

Upon return to campus, all students, faculty, staff, and visitors will be required to follow our new health and safety protocols. This includes, but is not limited to following hygiene best practices as outlined by the CDC, and wearing face coverings indoors. Furthermore, while virtual meetings will continue as much as possible, all indoor gatherings will be limited to 10 or fewer participants. All classroom settings will observe social distancing and be reconfigured under new guidelines. Outdoor gatherings are currently limited to 25 participants. These limitations are established by the State of North Carolina and are subject to change.

In order to provide the best on-campus residential experience that prioritizes the health and safety of the Pacer community, we are significantly increasing the availability of single-residency rooms for the fall. More information about housing is being gathered through a survey. Once we tabulate the survey results, we will provide more information.

The University’s decisions have been made with the wellbeing of our students, faculty, staff and greater Raleigh community at the forefront. We will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC, the State of North Carolina, and Wake County, and make adjustments to our policies, as needed.

Should the threat of COVID-19 impact our current plans, we are prepared with contingency scenarios that reflect our mentoring and immersive learning philosophy. Additional details about WPU’s fall semester will be forthcoming. Meanwhile, for more information and frequently asked questions, visit www.peace.edu
