PACER ALERT: Hurricane Florence Update

Update: 9.17.2018, 10:45 a.m.

Following Hurricane Florence, William Peace University classes will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 18. The University will resume normal business operations at 7 a.m.

WPU Public Safety Officials have deemed the campus safe and operational with many students already on campus.

In preparation for classes on Tuesday, students are encouraged to return to campus when travel is safe. Please check highway conditions (http://Drivenc.gov) in your area and along the route back to Raleigh before traveling.

In addition, on-campus classes for the School of Professional Studies will resume as normally scheduled on Tuesday.

The University understands that many students and families may be greatly affected by this storm and are dealing with hardships. The Office of Academic Affairs is prepared to support any and all affected students and families.

Students who are affected by the storm and are in need of special assistance and accommodations are first encouraged to contact their individual class instructors or faculty advisor. For any additional assistance, please contact academicaffairs@peace.edu.

Update: 9.15.2018, 6:00 p.m.

William Peace University will remain closed on Monday, September 17, due to conditions from Hurricane Florence. All classes are cancelled and University operations remain suspended.

On-campus classes for the School of Professional Studies remain suspended, including on-campus proctoring. Online classes will continue as normally scheduled.

Operations within residence halls and dining areas will continue as previously stated.

We will continue to evaluate conditions in the Raleigh area and around the state. The University understands that many students and families may be greatly affected by this storm and are dealing with hardships.

Update: 9.13.2018, 2:00 p.m.

We are continuing to monitor conditions from Hurricane Florence. William Peace University classes remain cancelled today, Thursday, September 13, and Friday, September 14. In addition, all campus operations remain suspended during this time. The University is scheduled to resume normal campus operations at 7 a.m. on Monday, September 17.

On-campus classes for the School of Professional Studies remain suspended. Online classes will resume as normally scheduled.

Residence halls remain open for students who live on campus and were not able to travel. Any specific information regarding dining hall hours and other campus resources have been communicated directly by Residence Life and Public Safety.

Update: 9.11.2018, 1:45 p.m.

Due to impending weather conditions from Hurricane Florence, William Peace University is cancelling classes effective 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, and is suspending all campus operations beginning at 5 p.m. The University is scheduled to resume normal campus operations at 7 a.m. on Monday, September 17.

In addition, on-campus classes for the School of Professional Studies are also suspended. Online classes will resume as normally scheduled.

All students are strongly encouraged to leave the Raleigh area before the storm hits. Residence halls will remain open for students who live on campus and are not able to travel.

All students who live on campus are asked to fill out this Residence Life form reporting your plans during this time period. Any specific information regarding dining hall hours will be communicated directly by Residence Life.
