William Peace University deepens partnership with Town of Cary for exceptional athletic experience for our Students

William Peace University (WPU) is excited to announce a significant expansion of its partnership with the Town of Cary, North Carolina. Under this new agreement, WPU will provide funding to the Town of Cary for a multi-purpose building (that will house a press box, locker rooms, showers and changing facilities) bleachers, a scoreboard and other related improvements for use by the Men’s and Women’s Soccer and Lacrosse programs of WPU. Cary is granting WPU a non-exclusive license for an artificial turf field for lacrosse and natural turf for soccer. The University has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the Town as the baseball, soccer and cross country programs of Pacers Athletics have utilized Town of Cary facilities for the last several years. “Cary is very excited about this partnership and we look forward to hosting the Pacer Teams in this development,” said William Davis, Sport Venues Manager for Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources.

“WPU is committed to providing our student-athletes with a great educational and athletic experience. WakeMed Soccer Park is recognized as one of the premier outdoor athletic facilities in the nation. This partnership will enhance our student and fan experience, and our student-athletes will have a home that is a source of Pacer pride.”

Dr. Brian Ralph, President of William Peace University

Through the creation and launch of the Believe in Peace Strategic Plan, WPU has added many sports for both male and female student-athletes, including swimming, track & field, and lacrosse. As the University began to seek a more permanent home for soccer and lacrosse, many options throughout Wake County were explored with WakeMed Soccer Park rising to the top of the list. “WPU is committed to providing our student-athletes with a great educational and athletic experience.
