Summer 2017 Campus Technology Updates
It’s been a busy summer for WPU. From building a new 24-hour student hub to adding new computers across campus, the University has been working diligently to renovate and improve facilities during the more traditional quiet months on campus.
The Pacer Hub
Headlining as one of the more major projects on campus is the complete overhaul of second floor Belk, transitioning the space to a 24-hour, state-of-the-art student hub. The space features a full-service Sandella’s Flatbread Cafe, offering a variety of additional dining options for students. The cafe will operate until 11:30 p.m, providing a late-night food option on campus.
In addition, the Pacer Hub also includes a 120-inch electronic drop-down projector screen for special events and presentations, a lounge area with sofas and soft seating, a high-tech meeting room equipped with audio/video displays, and a collaboration space with touch-screen technology and more.

A new wireless system has been installed that has more than doubled Wifi coverage across campus, allowing students to complete and upload assignments faster, not to mention post that evermore important selfie on Instagram.
New iMacs have been installed in the Communication Lab in Flowe Building, while three classrooms have been fully upgraded with new A/V technology. In addition, A/V improvements have been installed in three additional classrooms.
New phone systems have also been installed across campus in faculty and staff offices. The new systems include enhanced voicemail messaging and a remote portal for mailbox login access.
