TradeMark Properties Announces Agreement with Harris Teeter at Seaboard Station

Dear Campus Community:

I have exciting news to share about Seaboard Station and wanted you to hear it from me first. TradeMark Properties, the management and leasing agent for Seaboard Station, has announced an agreement with Harris Teeter to open a full-service grocery store at Seaboard Station.  It is still very early in the process so we don’t have a lot of details to share at this time, but we will share more information as it becomes available. Over the next several months, TradeMark and Harris Teeter will be working out further details (location, accommodating all existing tenants, etc.). I am extremely excited about the impact Harris Teeter will have on William Peace University, the neighborhood and the city.

In the meantime, I thought you might like to also read the announcement that TradeMark Properties released (see below).

Also, remember to check out the many opportunities Seaboard and #OurRaleigh provides you! Learn more here.

Thank you!

Dr. Ralph

TradeMark Properties, management and leasing agent for Seaboard Station, is pleased to announce that Harris Teeter has entered an agreement to open a full-service grocery store. The approximately 55,000 square foot store will include pharmacy, fresh foods and prepared food centers.

“Harris Teeter is the premier grocer in our market and we are excited about bringing them to Seaboard. We intend to retain all of our current tenants at Seaboard Station and to expand with additional local boutiques, services and restaurants.” said Billie Redmond, TradeMark Properties. “Seaboard Station is committed to our community and this exciting addition answers the need for a strong grocery location in the downtown area. And it allows Seaboard to create more opportunities for small business and independent retailers in our market.”

Seaboard Station has served as the only traditional shopping center in Downtown Raleigh and anchors the north end of downtown. With the addition of Harris Teeter at Seaboard Station, TradeMark Properties has partnered with Lowe Enterprises to develop various expansion and development concepts for the retail center to allow for more retail space and the possibility of various multifamily components and hospitality opportunities.

After the sale of Seaboard Station in October 2013, TradeMark Properties assumed a strategic advisory role in the management and future development opportunities of the center. Since acquisition, Seaboard Station has remained 100% leased. Seaboard Station currently offers 92,000 square feet of shopping, dining and specialty service options. It is located at the northern end of downtown Raleigh, off Peace and Halifax Streets, and is adjacent to William Peace University. Developed in the 1940s, it is a former train depot and warehouse complex. Today, it provides a village-like atmosphere in downtown Raleigh.
